Draftkings & FanDuel Launch Casino Apps in PA & NJ

Last month, both FanDuel and DraftKings announced that they have entered into the mobile casino app market separate from their traditional sports betting apps. FanDuel’s app will be made available for those living in or visiting Pennsylvania and DraftKings will make their app available to individuals in New Jersey.

Both companies are hoping to expand their footprint in the online gambling space and inch closer to being an all-inclusive gaming option in states that allow online sports betting and online casinos.

FanDuel Casino App in PA

The new FanDuel Casino app is now available for iOS and Android users in Pennsylvania. FanDuel has partnered with Valley Forge Casino and Boyd Gaming in order to combine their sportsbook with casino games that are found at most brick-and-mortar casinos.

Casino game options include Blackjack, Roulette, Video Poker, and a handful of slot games. FanDuel has mentioned that they fully expect to add more games and improve their current selection.

Additionally, FanDuel Casino will still be available inside the FanDuel Sportsbook app, and customers that already have a FanDuel Sportsbook account can use the same login for the FanDuel Casino app. New players can wager up to $200 risk-free when they sign up for the new FanDuel Casino standalone app.

DraftKings Casino App in NJ

Much like FanDuel, the DraftKings Casino app is available now on both iOS and Android mobile devices. However, you must be living in or visiting New Jersey in order to place wagers.

The DraftKings Casino will remain available on the DraftKings Sportsbook app but the creation of the new standalone casino app paves way for more branded games from DraftKings and allows them to expand their casino game offering in the future.

More specifically, DraftKings has plans to work with gaming providers such as International Gaming Technology, Slingo, Scientific Games and others to add to their gaming library. For now, the casino app offers Blackjack, Roulette, a live casino (DraftKings Live Studio), and online slot titles.

Final Thoughts

By offering a standalone casino app, in addition to their casino offering found on their sportsbook app, both FanDuel and DraftKings are aiming to capture more market share and create a better gaming experience for individuals who are interested in both sports betting and casino gaming.

The ability to customize a new app, offer unique content and games, and reach a larger audience are obvious reasons as to why both FanDuel and DraftKings rolled out their new casino gaming apps. Most expect their new casino apps to continue to improve and be made available in other states where online gambling is legal.
